I had an emergency incident with my plumbing that led to some water damage in my ceiling. GMM did phenomenal work to quickly and effectively come to my home and fix the issue. The communication was extremely detailed and timely and I knew when and what to expect of the team. These are some of the most personable people I have worked with and some of the best work I have had done on my house! 10/10 would recommend this company to do all of your housework inside and out!

Gartmann Maintenance & Management did a complete renovation of my bathroom. James is very easy to work with. He is honest, thorough and experienced. James and his team installed floor tile, vanity, bathtub and new tile around the tub. It turned out beautifully! After that, James and his team renovated my kitchen, including new cabinets, quartz countertop, new appliances and flooring. Working with James is collaborative. I have an idea and then James will improve on it with beautiful results. I will continue to call Gartmann Maintenance for both small and large projects.

A bathroom renovation also shapes more of everyday life than most homeowners expect. A layout that finally works in the morning can turn a rushed start into an easy one, and swapping out worn or inefficient fixtures often means lower water and energy bills down the line. For Madison homeowners planning to stay put for years, or those eager to put the place up for sale, a well-executed renovation both pays for itself in daily comfort and shows up in the home’s market value.
Homeowners across Madison and beyond consistently turn to Gartmann Renovations when it’s time for a project as important and personal as the bathroom. As a local company, we know this region well, from the older homes near the Capitol to newer builds out toward Fitchburg and Verona, and we bring that familiarity to every custom bathroom renovation we take on. That local experience, combined with clear communication from our first conversation through the final walkthrough, is a big part of why so many of our clients keep coming back or send their neighbors our way.

FAQs
What is included in a full bathroom remodel?
A complete bathroom remodel involves updating or replacing most, if not all, of the existing elements in your bathing area. This can include new flooring, tiles, fixtures, cabinets, countertops, lighting, and even a layout change if needed. We typically begin with a design phase, then move into demolition, followed by installation of new components like showers, bathtubs, toilets, vanities, and more.
We also ensure all plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems are updated to meet safety standards. If you’re looking for a complete transformation for your bathing space in Madison, we’ll work with you every step of the way to achieve your vision.
How long should a full bathroom renovation take?
The timeline for a bathroom renovation in Madison can vary based on the complexity of the project. Generally, a full project can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the scope of work. This includes time for design, work, and finishing touches.
If we’re dealing with custom fixtures, complicated plumbing, or electrical updates, the process goes beyond a simple bathroom renovation and goes into remodel territory. As such, it’s likely to take longer, but we’ll always keep you informed and ensure minimal disruption. If you’d like a more precise timeline for your project, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team for a personalized estimate.
Why should I consider bathroom remodeling?
Bathroom remodeling isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about improving functionality, increasing the value of your Madison home, and creating a space that reflects your style and needs. Plus, modern upgrades can improve energy efficiency and water usage, which can save you money in the long run. If you’re unsure where to start or what changes will benefit you the most, reach out to us for a consultation!
What is the difference between a bathroom renovation & a bathroom remodel?
A bathroom remodel in Madison would typically involve making significant structural changes to the layout of your bathroom, such as moving fixtures, taking down or adding walls, beams, and the like, fully altering the design, or installing custom features.
A bathroom renovation, on the other hand, often refers to updating or restoring existing features, like replacing old tiles, re-grouting, or refinishing cabinets. If you’d like to know which route is best for your project, we’re happy to discuss your goals and recommend the most suitable option for your space.
What to avoid when renovating a bathroom?
There are a few missteps that can turn a bathroom renovation into a bigger headache than it needs to be. Some of the most common ones we see include:
Choosing materials based on price alone, which often means replacing them again sooner than expected
Skipping proper ventilation, which can lead to mold and moisture damage down the road
Underestimating the plumbing or electrical work needed behind the walls
Making design decisions without thinking through daily use, like storage or counter space
We always recommend working with a team early in the planning stage, since catching these issues before demolition begins saves both time and money. A little extra planning up front goes a long way toward avoiding costly changes mid-project.
Can you live in your house during a bathroom remodel?
Yes, in most cases you can stay in your home during a bathroom remodel in Madison, especially if it’s the only bathroom being worked on and your house has another one available. That said, comfort during the project depends on a few factors:
The scope of work, since a full overhaul involves more noise, dust, and disruption than a simple update
Whether water or electricity needs to be shut off for extended periods
How close the workspace is to bedrooms or living areas
We always walk clients through what to expect before work begins, so there are no surprises once the project is underway. If dust control and daily access are a concern, we can also plan the schedule around your routine to keep disruption to a minimum.
